Following the conclusion of a Sept. 14, 2009 meeting with proponents and the Kansas Alcohol and Beverage Control, the Council Grove City Commission has decided that a question regarding a city-wide smoking ordinance would not be included on an August 2010 city-wide ballot.

This decision came after the City Commission decided that a necessary smoking ordinace needed to include all bars and taverns within the city limits.  The City Commission noted that almost all restaurants to be included in the proposed smoking ordinance within the CIty Commisson limits were already smoke-free.
