OLATHE GOES SMOKE FREE
The City Council passed a smoke free ordinance in 2006. The ordinance provides protections from second hand smoke in public places and workplaces. It does exempt Class B private clubs. Some Olathe bars did apply to the state to become a private club in order to thawrt the local ordinance.
Take Action
If you live in Olathe OR know someone who lives in Olathe who would prefer an ordinance that provides protections for all workers and closes the private club exemption have them write or call the City Council. If you send an e-mail ask the recipient to forward the email to their contacts in Olathe. Olathe residents, please make your feelings known.
